Read Acts 10:1 - 28:31
"However I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me, the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." (Acts 20:24)
Apostle Paul was a missionary machine. So much respect for this guy. Wow. He goes all over the place preaching, healing, being imprisoned and saving many.
This is one person who knew what his race was. He knew exactly what he had to do, which is why he was so gungho. He stood before councils, kings and rioting crowds but never once flinched. Truly a lover and follower of Jesus.
What is your calling? What is the race you need to run? I guess the important thing is to participate and "run the race" God has called you to run. Is it the 100m, 200m or 400m? maybe it doesn't work like that? But God has granted us gifts, passions and talents to administer to glorify His name. Is it in the arts? media? government? family? economy? religion? education?
Whichever it is, lets run our races well and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given us, the task of testifying the gospel of God's grace.
The best reward in Heaven is to hear our awesome God declare "Well done my good and faithful servant."
